In case anybody missed it – MY BOOK IS ON KINDLE!

I am so happy and relieved that it is finally live.

I started writing Footsteps in the Ocean in June 2015. I got off to a really good start and had over half of it complete by Christmas, but then Uni work got tougher and my novel took a back seat. Around Easter time, 2016, I rekindled my passion for Jimmy and Penny’s relationship and in May I had my first draft.

As any writer knows, that’s not where the work stops. If anything, it became more stressful thereafter.

I read, re-read and re-read the book. I gave it to my mum and a very dear friend to read and give me feedback. Then it went to be proofread. And after that, it needed several more read-throughs and edits.

Gosh! What a lot of reading!

Monday 17th October 2016 was the day that I first attempted to upload my file onto KDP. What a stressful afternoon! Many people say how easy it is to use Amazon Direct Publishing, and yes, it is easier than submitting to hundreds of publishing houses and waiting months to hear an answer, however, it is not quite as simple as one would expect. Nevertheless, by Monday evening, Footsteps was live.

I had wanted it published by the end of summer. Well, that never happened.

However, October is the perfect time for Footsteps’ release, as it is the month when we enter the story. It is a bleak and drizzly October day when Jimmy walk out of the prison walls. It is a cold and crisp and dazzling October morning when Jimmy first lays eyes on the woman of his dreams.

Footsteps in the Ocean is a great read for this time of year. It will make you fall in love with the season and get you in the Christmas spirit.

And so to celebrate its release, Luke and I treated ourselves to some fabulous French pastries on Wednesday, and then to a delicious 3-course lunch on Thursday afternoon.

I just need some sales to pay for those celebrations now!

If you would like to read the opening chapter, you can read it for free on my website.

Enjoy! xx
